"Trio Perfecto"

Sisters of Mercy

I never grow old of teaching this workshop,

whether it be to a group of 12 or to a single individual.

The transformation from block and dowel to elegant lady is mesmerising.

Yesterday I had the pleasure to do a private workshop for to lovely ladies.

and these are the finished masterpieces.

The one to the left and the one to the right belong to the clients.

They are fab.

Studio or Mancave??

Moving Along Nicely

Things have moved along quite a bit since we took on the unit.

As you can see from being a hollow shell its not looking quite homely and its a lovely space to work in.

This is what we had to start with, not even a door lol.

I managed to source and hang a cheap but good quality door.
and then move in the contents of one of our storage units.

Getting it slowly looking how we want it feedback has ben great.

Its only a small unit but we have managed to cram quite a bit of stuff in there.

And the Powertex display is looking quite impressive.

What I ultimately wanted was a comfortable space to work in and teach and maybe make a few sales as a bonus.

Studio Progression

Studio Progression

Just a few pictures to show what is happening and what I have been up to today

When we moved into the unit there was technically no door on,

the last few days have been tied up moving stuff in cleaning and putting in a door and frame.

All the Rosie Mcstone range of metal embellishments are bagged and priced.

I have been working on setting up the Powertex corner today and getting samples out .

Rosie Mcstone embellishments and stamps

Work going on in "Powertex Corner".

Today the rest of the Grid wall kit is being delivered and the new heater " I can't wait.

Tomorrow I will put some photos up of the vintage/retro side as it evolves.

Putting The Flesh On The Bones

Personalising The Studio
"Rosie's Journey"

We are in! We have moved a tonne of stuff into the studio but you know what its like you accumulate so much stuff. I would say we have probably moved maybe a fifth of the mass.

To be fair though though she is starting to take on a personality all of her own although I do confess she is a little quirky.

It is the first time we have seen all the stuff in one place instead of scattered over multiple storage units and although exciting a little scary as well.

I will try and get some photos up later so you can see what a pickle I'm in.

I suppose we should save a little space for workshops?

Just in case there is any interest.

Thanks for looking and showing an interest

Social Crafting

Friendly "Powertexing"

I may have said before but over the holidays we did a spot of social crafting.

It is a fab way to socialise, Food, Wine and Powertex I can see this becoming a regular event.

we made Christmas trees as you can see, surprisingly social crafting takes a lot longer.

This is our friends Lisa's finished tree.

How cool is that hey?

They will be consigned to the loft until Christmas starts again in June ( I kid yee not).

I do love making these Victorian style Baubles, they always turn out fab.

I hope you find these as enjoyable to look at as they have been to make.

I promise this is my last post until May lol.

Moving In

Zero Minus One

As you all know ( I think I may have said)  January the second is the start of our new little project.

It will probably take us a week to get in and settled ( My first job is to put a new door on ), but please come and see us, it may be a bit eclectic to start with a mix of the old and the new.

It is well worth a visit to have a look around the vintage centre and have a tea in the tea room.

We will be doing regular craft workshops as well as selling a small selection of crafting materials. and some strange bits and pieces for use in altered art, such as radio valves and mantle clock casings and ceramic dolls heads lol

There will be regular Powertex workshops and lots of interesting altered art and mixed media supplies and workshops , both with myself and with guest craft tutors.

We also have some card making classes in the pipeline as well as plans for a regular scrapbook crop and layout sessions.

As ever I will keep those of you interested updated with pictures on here.

Thank you for looking and for your continued support.

New Year, New Beginnings

Happy New Year

Happy new year to you all.

A new year beckons and as the doors of 2017 close so the doors of 2018 open.

Heres hoping that you all had a great year and fulfilled most of your personal goals for last year.

We had a very busy year last year, as well as quitting my job we also welcomed our first grandchild into the world.

We finally got married...yay

We set up the business and website Rosie Mcstone Studio

My first stamp designs were produced and sold out

and I had my first 2 magazine articles published

2018 is looking like starting off where 2017 ended

Fingers crossed we are still moving into the studio on the 2nd of January

There are new stamps and masks on the Horizon and we also have a few of our own paper designs going to print.

We have workshops booked up until October 24th

We also have our first overseas workshop booked!!!

The studio has lots of fantastic guest tutors lined up.

I'm exhausted thinking about it

but luckily we will be ending 2018 with a month in South Africa with Family.

Counting Down

Less than 2 weeks to go

Well, we now have less than 2 weeks until we can get into and start working in the courtyard studio. Hopefully( fingers crossed) it wont take us long to start putting our mark on it.

I must admit, I am chomping at the bit and can't wait to get in, even though it is the holiday period. I would love to get in there and get sorted.

I know its only a tiny space but it will do for now and there is no way the limited space will stop us doing what we want to do

If you do get chance to come and see us in the new year. Please check that we are in if you are making a specific trip as we may not be there everyday due to outstanding commitments made before the signing of the lease.

If you do make a spur of the moment trip you can always look around the lovely Carlton House Vintage and have a cup of tea in the tea room.

We look forward to seeing you.

The Strawberry Blondes

Six Men Went To Mow

Ok, we admit it we aren't Strawberry Blonde. We are in fact ginger.

Heather has been at it again this time she has been making gingerbread Tags for Christmas.

How cool are these? and, as ever the pictures don't do them justice with their cute little faces.

Just hang on a minute!!

Childsplay

Something a bit different today.

Heather has been having a play.

As Avadrew was born premature she had been bought quite a few clothes for her to grow into.

So Heather has made these nifty little wardrobe dividers for Avadrew's Wardrobe.

What a cool idea.

I love them. What do you think?

From Tiny Acorns

Vintage Beginnings

Exciting news!!

We are glad to announce that we have taken on a small studio both to work in and to teach from.

We will be situated in Carlton House,

This is a Vintage Arts & Crafts set up with the added bonus of having a tea room.

It has a lovely old façade and if you look through the tunnel there is a courtyard.

That's where you will find us from the 2nd of January.

As well as running workshops of all kinds we are hoping to also sell Eclectica, Ephemera and

upcycled/re-purposed pieces and to start with basic supplies for

mixed media , altered art and Steampunk as well as some of my finished pieces.

A bit of a blank canvas at the moment both inside and out and

as you'd expect from us we are hoping to put our own stamp on it without scaring too many people away.

We have a tiny little ground floor space but hey you have to start somewhere.

Thanks for looking and if you are in the are in the new year why not pop in and say hello

just make sure its not a workshop day first.

Calling all new Grandparents

Would You Like This??

I have been having a ball of a time, I have ben casting Avadrew's hands and feet.

She isn't too impressed with the process but the end results are fab.

I have already been asked to do these for a couple of other people.

Is it something you would like doing of your young children/grandchildren?

These make great keepsakes and gifts

Social Crafting

Powertex Christmas Forest

We seem to have done so many of these cool conical Christmas trees now

That however doesn't stop it from being a pleasurable experience.

Combined with the fact that this was social crafting.... That's right no money changed hands.

We had a Christmas Powertex evening with a couple of very good friends, combined with a nice home cooked meal and a few beers.

Social crafting at its best.

Pixie Population Growth

Baby Boom Housing Crisis

Well they have been at it again!
A recent baby boom amongst the Pixie population In Greenfields, Saddleworth has led to the hasty construction of 9 new bijoux dwellings to help ease the burden.

Quickly constructed on the afternoon of Saturday the 18th of November the house went up in a matter of hours.

A local business owner  :- Gwen Fletcher is reported to have said " aren't they fab?"

At this moment in time there is no plans to build anymore dwellings at this location.

If you squint slightly you can just see one of the new residents in the background just to the left of the front door.

Mr & Mrs G

Tea Total hmmm Maybe

Those of you who know us either as friends or as acquaintances will know that
on the 25th of October Heather Became Mrs G.

It is no secret that she has made me a very happy man in the time we have been together.
We have had some fantastic adventures so far and I personally cant wait to see what new and interesting things we will discover together in the future.

We have both taken a little time to reflect whilst on our honeymoon.

It has been a really busy year this year, and the plan for us for the coming year is to get our work/life balance back.

That is not to say that we will slack off and do less work ( who ever heard of such a thing?) but to aim to work smarter so we have more free time together.

So keep an eye on this space, either to see what we are up to in the crafting community or to check out our everyday adventures in life as Mr & Mrs G.

Thanks for looking Mr & Mrs G
