Powertex ..... the Dark Side

John Glossops trip to the other side....The Powertex Darkside

This is another accreditation piece , this time I made it a little more personal . I love steampunk,  grunge and Industriana and  Powertex really lends itself to my style .
This is  polystyrene head decorated with Self cracking clay made using Powertex Easy 3d and a combination of different coloured Powertex hardener.
On arrival home he was immediately confined to the shed . I think Heather found him a little scary??

After awhile I decided I wanted to give him a more reptilian Finish
this was dome by first painting him with black acrylic paint. He was then  colourwashed with micaceous Iron Oxide and Phthalo green acrylic. This gave me a deep reptilian irridescant green. Finally he was dry brushed with Powertex clear gold colourticx
I would love to hear your vies/critiques .

  1. Heather is right - this is creepy!! I do love the metallic reptilian finish you created - reminds me of the TV series 'V'....you will remember that because you are old like me :D Even though this is a bit freaky, you are really showing off what Powertex can be used for and I can't wait to see what you do next!

    1. Hi Lillian, thank you very much for your kind comment. You could try checking out the Powertex UK website to see where your local stockist/tutor is. If there isn't one close by and you can get a few friends together I am more than happy to come and teach for a day?
